THE APPOINTED TIME

It was a tuesday morning. I woke up with headache, blurry vision and weakness all over my body. Then I received a call that the mother of my daughter (let's call her Sunshine) has been moved to the hospital. She was in labor.

I was scared and excited at the same time. The headache was hitting too hard, I couldn't concentrate in class. I had this strong urge to go home. So I left school around 6pm to go back home - to Ikot Ekpene.

Mum called me telling me to stay back as she will be there with Sunshine. I stubbornly refused as I wanted to be there live giving my encouragement and also witness the birth of my first seed.

The taxi I entered down to Uyo was divinely orchestrated by God. I strongly believed that. The driver was playing a message from Bishop David Oyedepo and he said something that caught me. He said "YOU'RE YOUR NUMBER 1 PROPHET".

At that moment, I laid hands on my head and prayed the sickness away. Immediately, I got healed...Wow!

I felt my tongue on fire and immediately I declared safe delivery for the baby.

I arrived Ikot Ekpene General Hospital by 9:15pm and I learnt the nurses sent my mum home leaving sunshine alone at the hospital.

I identified myself as the Father of the baby to be born and I was allowed inside. At this moment, there were 3 pregnant women in the ward. One has been there for three days now and she was just shouting all through even though she has been injected severally.

I approached sunshine. In as much as I saw that she was glad I came around, I could still see pains stuck at the side of her eye. She would scream at some point and squeeze me. Oh! Till date I don't know where she gathered the strength to squeeze me, I felt life leaving me under such squeeze.

Then I remembered the Bishop's words. I asked her what she wanted and she said she wants to deliver so as to get done with the kicks (my daughter was a strong kicker!). I laid my hands and said "In the name of Jesus, you'll deliver before 11pm.

Few minutes later, I was led outside and she was carried to the delivery room and the baby came without stress.

Baby arrived at exactly 10:40pm. She weighed 3.3kg.

I fell on my knees to give glory to God. I called mum, my sisters and my pastor to relay the good news. I slept outside and was feasted on by hungry mosquitoes...who cared, baby was safe so nothing else mattered then.

The following morning, mum arrived by 6am and by 8am...we were already leaving the hospital. Everyone was shocked about sunshine's strength as it looked as if she never underwent any labor.

I'm still indebted to mum as she cleared the hospital bills. From that moment, my level of respect increased for every woman especially the pregnant ones, you have no idea what they go through.

Forget it, God dey create!

PS: Did I mention one of my prayer request was the safe delivery of a baby girl and God sure granted it.
